I have to go to work while my friends play

And while I work, I always plan
To seek relief in a bottle or can
Or even with batman

So take this drink with me
Endure reality

When I’ve got a beer, there’s smile on my face
And nothing matters, no tension, no disgrace
Hand me a lager or ale, it doesn’t matter to me
Some find solace in reflection and repose
I’ll take a brew with my friends instead of those
Across the world, people come together under the banner of beer

I started drinking beer while still in school
I said “forget the grades, I’m not a fool”
I needed escape
When I first sipped I beer, I spat it out
“what is this, liquid bread” I had to shout
But what a mistake

After a while, the taste began to grow
I tried all different types, and now I know
It just takes time
Some people take their vodka or their rum
Or scotch, tequila, gin, wine, or bourbon
This beer is mine
